The Mountain State Forest Festival (MSFF) began fundraising Saturday night with the Night Golf Tournament. Registration began at 3 P.M. with nine holes in the daylight hours and nine holes once the sun went down.
“This event here gets us started to fund some other things that we need and things for upcoming events. We are going to have the ATV race coming up will be one of the next events. We have the bass tournament and things like that. So, it’s kind of a nice little cushion to get the start up of the forest festival,” said Assistant Director General Rich Nida.
The golf ball drop is a major draw for the event and the participant with a ball closest to the pin wins $1,000. Festival officials have many more things planned leading up to the 81st Mountain State Forest Festival; for a full schedule of events, visit the MSFF website and Facebook page.
