Restaurant Road Trip: Don Patron

Posted: Updated:

Nestled in a shopping center with everything from auto care supply stores to hair salons is Don Patron Mexican Grill.

The restaurant's elaborate and brightly colored decor immediately draws the attention of customers.

"The tables and everything we brought it from Guadalajara, Mexico, so they bring everything from over there," said Sandra Rosales.

Rosales' husband Pedro Rosales manages the restaurant and she helps when it gets busy, which is pretty much immediately after it opens at 11 a.m.

Pedro Rosales said the restaurants' success is because of its fresh ingredients and flavorful dishes.

"We make everything fresh, I have people here since 9 o'clock working. We have nothing left over."

But they don't just stop with food. The margaritas and other drinks at the restaurants' full bar draw attention as well.

But you when it comes to margaritas, you won't get the recipe.

"It's a secret," said Rosales.

Greg Williams, Don Patron customer, said it's not just the great food that keeps him coming back. The outstanding customer service and location are important factors as well.

"Well number one it's local. Instead of having to drive clear to Clarksburg or clear to Buckhannon or wherever," Williams said. "It's local and that's good."

So if you don't have time to make a trip south of the border, stop by Don Patron and get a little taste of Mexico.

Don Patron Mexican Grill is located at 100 Market Place Road in Weston.
