2017 Fourth of July Celebrations & Fireworks in North Central West Virginia

A variety of Fourth of July events and fireworks are taking place over the next week. Check out this list of events by county, and let us know if you have an event to add by emailing us at news@wboy.com or message us on Facebook.
 

Barbour County 

  • Fourth of July Fireworks Celebration at the Barbour County Fairgounds Friday, July 7. Gates open at 7 p.m. Fireworks at Dusk. (Rain Date: July 8.)  

Doddridge County

  • Fireworks at the Doddridge County Park on Tuesday, July 4 at 10 p.m.
     
  • Fireworks at Mount Salem Baptist Church on Thursday, July 6 at 7 p.m.

Harrison County

  • Celebrate America Concert at the Clarksburg Amphitheater on Monday, July 3 at 7:30 p.m. The Wheeling Symphony Orchestra will play followed by fireworks.
     
  • Fourth of July cookout on Friday, July 7 at the Genesis Salem Center in Salem from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
     
  • Fireworks at Ferguson Memorial Park in Shinnston on Saturday, July 1 at dark

Lewis County

  • Music & fireworks at Stonewall Resort on Sunday, July 2; Music begins at 7 p.m. with fireworks to follow at 9:45 p.m.
     
  • Weston's Independence Day Parade at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, July 4 with fireworks at the Robert L. Bland Middle School field at dark. There will be bounce houses, seed-spitting contests, dog contests, hula hoop challenges, bean bag tosses, and more at the RLBMS field beginning at noon.

Marion County

  • Fourth of July at Palatine Park on Tuesday, July 4; The Shinnston Community Band begins playing at 12:30 p.m. followed by a fireman's challenge at 2 p.m., a first responder parade at 3:30 p.m., a first responder ceremony with awards at 5 p.m., the Morgantown Jazz Ensemble playing at 6 p.m., BuckShot  playing at 8 p.m., and fireworks at 10 p.m.
     
  • Fairview's Fourth of July Celebration on Tuesday, July 4; A parade will take place at 10 a.m. followed by fireworks at 10 p.m. with contests, games, and music in between.
     
  • Vendors, games, and music at Hough Park in Mannington at 5 p.m. followed by fireworks at dark

Monongalia County

  • Celebration of America parade in downtown Morgantown on Tuesday, July 4; The parade begins on High Street at 6:30 p.m. followed by music at Hazel Ruby McQuain Riverfront Amphitheater at 7:15 p.m. and fireworks over the Monongahela River at dusk.

Preston County

  • Fireworks in Terra Alta on Tuesday, July 4

Randolph County

  • Live music & fireworks at Davis & Elkins Amphitheater in Elkins on Saturday, July 1; Music begins at 7 p.m. followed by fireworks at dark

Ritchie County

  • Fourth of July celebration at Eldon J. Haught Lakeside Recreation Area on Friday, July 7 at 4 p.m. with music at 9 p.m. and fireworks at dark

Taylor County

  • Fireworks in Grafton on Tuesday, July 1

Tucker County

  • Fireworks in Thomas on Saturday, July 1
     
  • The Wheeling Symphony will play at Canaan Valley on Sunday, July 2 at 3 p.m.

Upshur County

  • Fourth of July Celebration in Buckhannon on Friday, June 30 in conjunction with Festival Fridays, which includes a hot dog-eating contest, cake walk, bounce house, rock-climbing wall, archery shoot, volleyball, bocce ball, corn hole tournaments, a hoop shoot, performances, 50/50 drawings, a silent auction and fireworks at dark
     
  • Golf scramble on Saturday, July 1 at the Riverbend Golf Course in Buckhannon followed by live music from 5-8 p.m. and fireworks
