Glenville State College kicked off its freshmen orientation weekend on Friday morning.
The annual event allows the college's first-year students to get acclimated to their new home.
The school said it's also a way to help make them a part of the campus family.
"We like to see our new students coming in and we embrace them, so they have a family here. Yes they're saying by to mom and dad, but hey, you've got brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles, and extended family," said Jodi Walters of Glenville State College.
Classes will begin on Monday.
