West Virginia Illustrated Launches Mountaineer Game Day

West Virginia Illustrated launches new show, Mountaineer Game Day, airing live each Saturday at 10:00 a.m. ET on all West Virginia Media Holdings stations and live again at 11:00 a.m. ET on Root Sports Pittsburgh.

Mountaineer Game Day begins Saturday, August 30, 2014 and runs every Saturday, for 15 weekends, until the final regular season game for WVU on November 29, 2014.

Scott Grayson returns to WV Illustrated, as he joins the Mountaineer Game Day crew in Morgantown.

Grayson said, "I am excited to cover West Virginia University football once again. I look forward to getting the fans updated on everything they need to know about the upcoming WVU football game. WVU has a great fan base and I look forward to being part of the game day routine."

Joining Grayson on the Mountaineer Game Day set is Amanda Mazey, sports reporter for WVU Athletics. Grayson and Mazey will co-host Mountaineer Game Day from the Waterfront Place Hotel studio in Morgantown, West Virginia.

"I am thrilled at this opportunity to be a part of Mountaineer Game Day,” Mazey added. It's going to be a fun, informative show that I know will get WVU fans pumped for every single football game."

Mountaineer Game Day has also forged a special partnership with the WVU Reed College of Media, which will involve WVU media students working in support roles on the Game Day crew. This real life experience will be valuable to students as they learn and participate during the live Saturday Game Day productions.

Joining the Game Day crew each week on home and away games will be Mountaineer Game Day reporters Geoff Coyle and Matt Hauswirth. Both reporters will bring the viewer inside Mountaineer football with live reports prior to kick-off.

"There's nothing like being in the arena for a college football game, and that's exactly what we'll be bringing our viewers each week with an inside look at the Mountaineers,” said Coyle. “WVU has one of the country's toughest, and most exciting, schedules, and Matt [Hauswirth] and I can't wait to get Mountaineer Nation ready for each game along the way."

Mountaineer Game Day will also feature live and taped segments from other WVU officials including President E. Gordon Gee and Athletic Director, Oliver Luck. The Wolf Man, Dale Wolfley, joins the team each week, as he breaks down film on the next WVU opponent.

“Our goal is simple – make Mountaineer Game Day the destination viewing for all WVU fans in Morgantown and across the region by informing each viewer of the latest team news as kick-off approaches each weekend,” said Chuck Scatterday, operations manager and executive producer for WVillustrated.com.
