Harrison County Commission swore in three new sheriff's deputies on Thursday.
Jeffrey Swisher, James Kennedy, and Mark Senderack were welcomed to the department by commissioners, family members, and fellow deputies.
Sheriff Albert Marano said two of the new deputies are replacing retirees, and one is a new position.
“They are to replace a couple guys who retired and left the department, plus one additional slot that the county commission gave us and it's an assignment for the home confinement division which is become larger over the last several years. We have more people on home confinement than we've ever had,” explained Marano.
All the new deputies have previous experience. Two of the new deputies come from other counties, and one has previous military experience.
