Two separate accidents blocked northbound traffic Monday afternoon on Interstate 79 in Harrison County. Both accidents happened around 5:40 p.m. between mile marker 113 and 114, which is between the Lost Creek and Stonewood exits.
In the first accident, a Toyota Prius hydroplaned and hit the cable guard rail. That vehicle was damaged, but was still drive able.
The second accident involved a Pontiac G6. That driver also lost control and rolled over. Its driver was taken to United Hospital Center, in Bridgeport, with unknown injuries.
The accidents happened just after a rain shower passed through the area, leading investigators to believe that weather played a role in the accidents.
The Harrison County Sheriff's Department is investigating both crashes.
Volunteer firefighters from Stonewood and Lost Creek responded to the scene, along with Anmoore EMS.
One lane of I-79 was blocked for a short time.
