It's the start of move-in weekend for thousands of college students across our area, including those at West Virginia University.
Some incoming freshman and their parents got a jump start on the unloading last night, while others, like Tim O'Grady, arrived bright and early this morning. O'Grady says arriving in Morgantown made his 9-hour car ride from upstate New York well worth it.
"I got a little bit flustered this morning because it was just so hectic, but now I'm starting to feel settled in. It is big, but when they were talking about the new RSA programs and how you can get brunch on Sundays and stuff so I feel like they were trying to make a community, and I really enjoyed that," said O'Grady.
Students at Fairmont State University also moved into their dorms on Friday. Staff members and volunteers were all over campus to give students and their parents a hand. Move in will continue this weekend, with student activities such as a Mocktail Bar and an All-Student Session with prize giveaways.
WVU and FSU classes start on Monday.
