The walk is held in honor of Mavis "Cooki" Holyfield.
Holyfield lost her battle with uterine cancer in 2011.
Her family hosts the walk, and strives to raise awareness about uterine cancer.
“This is all about education, awareness, just getting everybody together for the purpose of furthering education so hopefully we don't have to lose more people than necessary from this illness. Just letting them know if you are ever in doubt, go to your doctor, that's really the important thing,” said Lauren Jewett, Holyfield's niece.
Before the walk, an educational session was held where representatives from the American Cancer Society discussed the details of uterine cancer.
