Harrison County Schools Offered “Family Day” Saturday at the Meadowbrook Mall in Bridgeport.
The Harrison County Schools had many speakers and presentations on hand to talk with parents about the resources offered to their children. WBOY 12 News Meteorologist, Jason Parrish, was on hand to speak with families, and Snowbird even got in on the action taking time to see the kids.
Harrison County Schools Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Technology, Wendy Imperial, said the event was all about offering families information about community resources. Imperial also said they had speakers and presenters offering parenting tips for use in the home.
“Teenagers are learning to become adults. If the teen talks back it just means that they’re looking for some space and some room, so the best thing to do is let them be and give them space,” said Bill Corbett, parenting coach.
Imperial said Harrison County Schools want to get the word out that many resources work together for the help and education of students. She said Harrison County as well as Harrison County Schools offer a great deal of resources to help any child succeed. To find out about those resources you can visit the Harrison County Board of Educations website.
