Fourteen adaptive bikes were given to children with disabilities on Thursday.
The "My Bike" program started in Pennsylvania, but these are the first to be given away in our area.
The bike are made for kids with special needs, children that are unable to run, hop, skip, have mobility that they would not be able to experience otherwise.
Since November, 2012, Variety has given away 650 bikes, including 50 in West Virginia.
Andrew and Lisa Lang were instrumental in bringing the program here.
Andrew Lang said, “I feel blessed to get to do the work that I do. I could say I didn't anticipate, I didn't think that the kids' joy could impact my life. And if you think about it, joy is transformational, joy changes us. I feel blessed that these kids have made me a better person.”
