White Hall Town Council has approved the purchase of a new police cruiser.
The 2015 Ford Taurus interceptor will be police equipped, but unmarked.
The police department currently has three cruisers, one of which has more than 70,000 miles on it.
The department said it was time to invest in another.
"It's starting to nickel and dime us, so we're going to keep that car as a transport car and a spare car," said Chief Geno Guerrier of White Hall Police Department.
"It's a good little police department here. We do make a lot of arrests with shoplifting and do handle a lot of vehicle accidents because it's a very high traffic area," said White Hall Mayor Guy Ward.
The department should have the vehicle in about two months.
