The Harrison County Emergency Ambulance Authority held it's meeting on Wednesday.
One of the main agenda items concerned ambulance service to Salem.
Until this March, the Anmoore Volunteer Fire Department serviced Salem, but providing the service became a financial burden on Anmoore.
The Harrison County Emergency Squad has been covering Salem since March 15.
Salem Mayor Bobby Samples was at the meeting on Wednesday, to request that the squad have a crew working from Salem.
Executive Director of the Harrison County Emergency Squad Rick Rock said that isn't possible yet, but could be in the future.
“We think that we're doing a good job. Of course every community would like an ambulance right in their backyard, but right now we are unable to do that. We'll continue to look and see how we can improve our service and what we can do to make it better,” explained Rock.
Presently the Emergency Squad responds from North View, and has a 10 to 12 minute response time.
