The Appalachian Regional Commission has introduced a map of 283 food destinations in West Virginia as well as 12 other states.
Tuesday's announcement is designed to recognize and promote food growers and producers unique to Appalachia.
Bon Appetit Appalachia features 283 locations, 21 are here in West Virginia.
It includes restaurants, markets, farms and fairs.
A guide recently debuted in the summer issue of Food Traveler Magazine.
Officials said local food systems are growing throughout Appalachia and are making important economic contributions in rural communities.
"West Virginia has so many outstanding qualities, from beautiful scenery to friendly people to an abundance of recreational and cultural attractions," said Tomblin.
In addition to the map insert. The food guide is also an interactive feature online. Several in our viewing area include: Fish Hawk Acres, Hometown Market and The Market Bistro in Upshur County; Lamberts Winery in Lewis County; Healthberry Farm in Tucker County; Barbour County Community Garden Market in Barbour County; Heston Farm and Winery in Marion County.
Tomblin was joined by Appalachian Regional Commission Federal Co-Chairman Earl F. Gohl in announcing the nationwide premier.
