People young and old were able to take a stroll down memory lane Sunday at the Mountain State Street Machines Auto Expo Car Show in Elkins.
Jim Knicely said a group of friends in a car club started what is the Mountain State Street Machines today. He said the show started a little more than 30 years ago with a little more than 60 cars.
Knicely also said that the Elkins Chamber of Commerce does a fantastic job organizing the car show every year.
“The 550 or so cars that they’re going to registered here, I think they’re already up to about 530, and that attests to a small town with a good attitude towards their car show and the people. They come back here year after year,” said Knicely.
Executive Director of Elkins-Randolph County Chamber of Commerce, Jess Arbogast, said the car show is a great economic impact for Elkins and the town really supports the car show.
