The Monongalia County Commission has approved several motions, including a plan to consolidate 20 voting precincts through House Bill 4473.
Eleven precincts will be moved within a few miles of the original and most were provided with handicapped accessibility.
The commission also approved a countywide EMS plan after some differences between Mon EMS, Star City and Jan Care.
"People wanted to get their piece of the pie. My concern, as was the other commissioners, is we need to provide a service and quit throwing out these turf wars," said County Commissioner Tom Bloom. "I do have to give a great deal of credit to Star City. They agreed, after we had our discussions, that they want to be a part with all three parties but the key that the county commissioner over sees and we will review it."
The commission also approved a motion to vacate unused lots and roads near the Dairy Mart on Willey Street.
ALP Inc will develop there, but have not revealed what it will build.
