Lewis County officials are looking at another way to make some money back for the county.
The courthouse will host an excess auction Thursday morning to sell furniture and other items no longer needed.
Much of the furniture was replaced when the new courthouse annex opened last year, and officials said the sale will help recoup some of the cost.
"That's pretty well it, it never amounts to a whole lot, but it'll be a few dollars coming back to the county instead of throwing it onto the dump or something," said Commissioner Pat Boyle.
Anyone interested can see the items available at 7 a.m.; the auction starts at 10.
