Citizens from Morgantown are being recognized for the good work they've done withMain Streett Morgantown.
Governor Earl Ray Tomblin Presented the 2013 Main Street Volunteer Awards Wednesday, June 18. Bill Kawecki, a Morgantown city councilor, was selected by the board and committees of Main Street Morgantown for the Volunteer of the Year award.
"The city of Morgantown has numbers of volunteers, and numbers of organizations, and I'm involved with a lot of them as a city council person," said Kawecki. "Just the fact that people are able to step forward and take on these activities out of the goodness of their hearts, it's unexpected and much appreciated. You really do want to say thank you to them. It was nice just to have it turned back on me, somebody said thank you."
There were several other people recognized. Including, Officer Steve Bennett of the Morgantown Police Department as the Public Official of the Year and Sabrina Cave received best Board Member of the Year.
Terri Cutright was honored for her 25 years of service to Main Street Morgantown and Jeanne Hagan was named Business Person of the Year.
