Camp Catch your Breath will be held for the 24th year in Jackson's Mill in July.
United Hospital Center sponsors the camp that helps children ages eight to 13 who suffer from asthma.
The camp teaches children about their condition, allows them to express their feelings about having asthma, and allows them to attend a camp just like regular kids.
“We have times when we are doing our crafts, our activities, we are doing swimming, we go on field trips, all the things you would do at a normal camp. They find out that they are not alone, that there are other people out there dealing with the same thing on a daily basis, a lot of times in school they don't get that,” explained Sonny Hoskinson, the director of the camp.
Camp Catch your Breath will be held July 20 to the 25 at Jackson’s Mill in Weston.
The camp can handle 70 children, and the campers are accepted on a first come first serve basis.
