People packed Mylan Park Friday night for the inaugural Electro Dash 5K at Mylan Park in Monongalia County.
The park was glowing with more than 100 runners participating in the Electro Dash 5K to benefit the Rosenbaum Family House. At a low cost, the house offers room and board to those needing a place to stay close to West Virginia University Hospital.
One group of runners called the pink socks said they're participating in the race in remembrance of their loved one.
“To represent my sister, she battled cancer for seven years, we lost her in August of last year, August 14th, and she would have been right out here with us tonight, and she really is tonight, and we’re here to pull it for her,” said Pam Youst.
The Pink Socks also said for them that the 5 K race shows bravery, energy, and commitment to their loved one that they are honoring by participating.
Electro Dash wrapped up its festivities early Saturday morning.
