A Fairmont State University faculty member has been named the recipient of the 2014 Teaching Excellence Award from Region 2 of the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs.

The award is given each year in each of the council’s 10 regions to recognize those who exemplify teaching excellence in the classroom.

C. Frank Lee, an associate professor of information systems management in FSU’s School of Business, will be honored along with other regional recipients at the council’s annual conference, which starts June 27 in Chicago.

As part of the honor, he will receive a medallion and monetary reward. Lee also is in the running for an international teaching excellence award that will be announced during the Chicago conference.

The council is the only specialized accrediting body for business schools that presents an award recognizing excellence in teaching. The organization has 1,227 member campuses, including 186 schools outside of the United States.
