Many residents came out to Clarksburg City Council Thursday to talk about the revitalization plan for affordable housing for families.
Council approved a resolution adopting a local community revitalization plan to allow for a 35 unit affordable housing project at the “Reserve at Rose Bud Project.” Mayor Cathy Goings said there will be income restrictions to the housing on this property and there will be no government subsidy with this housing project.
Goings also said it will be a self-contained community with a club house, on site manager and recreation center.
“This is about a seven acre tract behind Rose Bud Plaza that will house these 35 units, and it will be brand new state of the art facilities,” said Goings.
Council also had their second reading and public hearing on the adopting the municipal home rule pilot program. Council will send their application to the home rule board in Charleston for a consideration of approval.
