A 44-year-old Beckley man who used fake equipment rental agreements that he later deleted to line his own pockets is going to be spending two years in federal prison.

Mark Randall Trump, formerly a branch manager at the Walker Express Store in Crab Orchard, also was ordered to make $367,000 in restitution

Trump pleaded guilty in December to wire fraud, U.S. Attorney Booth Goodwin said.

From 2009-2012 Trump said he gave select customers discounts on equipment rentals if they paid with cash or by personal check, which he then deposited into his own bank account. Trump said he concealed the fraud by creating rental agreements for the customers which he would later delete from Walker Machinery's computer system. He also failed to process paperwork which would have prompted the creation of invoices.

Trump pocketed $90,000 for himself and caused a loss of more than $350,000 for Walker Machinery.

The West Virginia State Police and the Federal Bureau of Investigation conducted the investigation. Assistant U.S. Attorney Blaire L. Malkin handled the prosecution and U.S. District Judge Irene C. Berger imposed the sentence.
