Crews Plan to Construct Temporary Bridge While Oral Lake Bridge is Repaired

The Division of Highways is planning the construction of a temporary bridge on Oral Lake Road in Harrison County.

There is a one lane bridge on that road currently that was built in 1901.

That bridge is now in need of repair, and originally the DOH planned to route traffic down a narrow road nearby, but after hearing concerns from the public it will construct a temporary bridge instead.

The new bridge will be built right next to the old bridge.

Crews were out on Monday from SMH Construction surveying the land.

The bridge could take two weeks to construct, and it could take up to a week to get the building plan approved by the state.
