    The West Virginia Autism Training Center is expanding its reach in the state. WV ATC, located at Marshall University in Huntington, has partnered with Concord University to develop on-campus support in Athens for students who are diagnosed with an autism spectrum disorder.

    The West Virginia Child Advocacy Network and West Virginia Coalition Against Domestic Violence are getting help from Verizon's HopeLine program to help those affected by domestic violence and child abuse.

    The West Virginia Child Advocacy Network and West Virginia Coalition Against Domestic Violence are getting help from Verizon's HopeLine program to help those affected by domestic violence and child abuse.

Several West Virginia businesses were recognized April 11 by the U.S. Small Business Administration as part of its West Virginia Small Business Week awards.

Both SBA mid-Atlantic Regional Administrator Natalie Olson-Urtecho and WV District Director Judy McCauley expressed their pleasure in announcing the awards, which are as follows:

 

  • Small Business Person of the Year: Kenneth Allman, PracticeLink and MountainPlex Properties, Hinton
  • Exporter of the Year: Chad Harlan Remp, Wheeling Truck Center, Wheeling
  • Family-Owned Small Business of the Year: Christopher Alan Wendling – A.F. Wendling Inc., Buckhannon
  • Young Entrepreneur of the Year: Bridget Watters Rowsey – Bridget's Dance Academy, Huntington
  • Veteran Small Business Champion of the Year: Pam Neely, Martinsburg
