First responders were called to an unoccupied house fire Thursday evening on Rhea Terrace in Fairmont.
Fairmont Fire Chief Jim Emerick said the call came in around 9:51 p.m. Flames engulfed the home, causing damage to all three floors. Crews monitored the fire all night. There was minimal damage to a neighboring home.
Neighbors told the fire department that it looked like the fire started in a corner of the home. No utilities were connected to the house and it's unknown how the fire started at this time. The fire is believed to be suspicious.
The State Fire Marshal and Fairmont Fire Department are investigating.
