A Huntington woman has been sentenced to four years in federal prison for dealing heroin.

U.S. Attorney Booth Goodwin said Kimberly Gayle Hamlett, 35, admitted she'd sold heroin to a confidential informant in May. The sale took place at a gas station at 16th Street and 6th Avenue in Huntington.

As part of her plea deal, he said Hamlett also admitted that she conspired to sell oxycodone pills and heroin for other individuals from at least 2011 through August 8, 2013. He said Hamlett told the court she delivered the drugs and also provided places for others to store and sell drugs. Firearms were also kept at those locations.

This case is being prosecuted as part of an ongoing effort led by the United States Attorney's Office for the Southern District of West Virginia to combat the illicit sale and misuse of prescription drugs and heroin.
