    Lena Lunsford was taken into custody by authorities in Pinellas County, Fla., where she is awaiting extradition on a charge of death of a child by a parent by child abuse,  Lewis County, WV, Sheriff Adam Gissy told The Exponent Telegram.

Three people have pleaded guilty to drug-related charges pleas of guilty in Elkins, U.S. Attorney William J. Ihlenfeld II said.

Jason Dwight Mackenzie, 33, of Elkins, pleaded guilty to distribution of buprenorphine. Mackenzie, free on bond pending sentencing, faces up to 10 years in prison. Ihlenfeld handled Mackenzie's prosecution.

Keith Allen Poteete, 48, faces up to 20 years in prison after pleading guilty to distribution of buprenorphine within 1,000 feet of the Davis Street Park Playground in Elkins. Poteete, an Elkins resident, is free on bond pending sentencing and faces up to 20 years in prison. Assistant U.S. Attorney Stephen D. Warner is handling his prosecution.

The Mountain Region Drug and Violent Crime Task Force, consisting of officers from the West Virginia State Police-Bureau of Criminal Investigations, U.S. Forest Service, Randolph County Sheriff's Department, Tucker County Sheriff's Department and the DEA, assisted by the DEA Tactical Diversion Squad, investigated Poteete and Mackenzie.

Dennis Lynn Smith, 56, of Upper Tract, admitted he maintained a drug-involved premise for storing, manufacturing and using methamphetamine. Smith, free on bond pending sentencing, faces up to 20 years in prison. His case was prosecuted by U.S. Attorney Andrew R. Cogar and investigated by West Virginia State Police.
