The Family of Everett "Ed" Wilson Held A Balloon Release In His Memory
Balloon's being released in memory of Ed Wilson.
The family of Ed Wilson met Wednesday evening to honor him with a balloon release at the Arnettsville Cemetery.
Family and friends put the balloon release together just after a Harrison County jury found Michael Palmer guilty in the 2011 murder of his father-in-law, Ed Wilson. The Wilson family said having a balloon release to honor Wilson was a spur of the moment idea.
The family gathered in remembrance of him and talked about what kind of man he was to his family. They also said that the balloon release is a symbolism of releasing all the worries and stress the family endured during the past three years.
Ed Wilson's grandson, Cody Wilson said, "It gave a lot of Justice to me, just very relieved, happy."
"This has been a very long battle. The whole community of Rivesville has bonded. People came out and gave their last five dollars to put in there gas tank to get there. They supported us with phone calls, and just their love and prayers. Prayers have gone out through churches in our whole community," said Linda Gandy, Wilson's sister.
The family said that they would like to give a special thanks to the Marion County Sheriff's Department for spending countless hours working the case for the family.
