The Lewis County Commission approved its budget for the next fiscal year at its meeting Monday morning.
Commission President Agnes Queen said the commission will have at least $2 million to roll over into next year's budget.
Queen said those funds will help the county continue to pay for some of its more long-term projects.
She also said the commission hopes to keep that rollover money available each year.
"Will that continue to happen? We hope so, but one never knows, so we continue to look to tighten down, cut things back, be reasonable with the budget and what we're budgeting out for our elected officials and department heads," said Queen.
The commission will have a more exact count of how much they will carry over in August, after the current fiscal year has ended.
