Weight Loss Program Encourages Healthy Living While Helping Others

Posted: Updated:

Brian Colebank is starting a remarkable journey to lose weight. But he's not only helping himself, he's helping other people.

"Within the first week I was on it I lost 11 pounds," said Colebank. "Now I've been on it for 45 days and I've lost 46 pounds. It works amazingly, it's easy to use, just replace two meals a day with the shakes and that's it."

Colebank is also working out every day and is striving to lose his goal of 200 pounds. But he's losing weight to help other people gain a healthy lifestyle.

Visalus held a party to celebrate Colebank's weight loss. It uses the Project 10 challenge to encourage people to be healthy. With every ten pounds of fat lost or ten pounds of muscle gained, meals are donated to help children overcome diabetes and obesity.

"We donate 30 meals to a chosen donation site here locally, across the country, work with several charities," said Travis Tarr, a Visalus Ambassador. "As soon as we go through and finish our challenge on that first ten pounds, we turn around and donate the meals to whoever we choose to donate to."

Sticking to the plan is a major part of losing the weight. The Project 10 Challenge encourages people to work out and adopt a healthy lifestyle.

Colebank has already helped donate 120 healthy meals to local children. Every week Visalus gives out three things in honor of those ten pounds.

"They give out a free T shirt to somebody saying 'I Lost It,' they give out $10,000 total to ten different people across the country, I actually won this past week. And then they give out 30 free meals to underprivileged obese meals to help them lose weight," said Colebank.

The party in Colebank's honor was one of thousands happening around the world for the 'Largest Challenge Party.' If you'd like to learn more about Visalus visit the website.
