A Tucker County man has won the 2014 Iditarod Invitational held in Alaska.
John Logar, of Davis, won the foot division to Nome, Alaska on Wednesday, March 19, coming in at 23 days 23 hours and 10 minutes.
The total journey was 1,000 miles.
Logar was one of six racers in his category.
Racers from all over the world compete on bikes, foot or skis.
The start of the race began Feb. 23 about 70 miles from Anchorage, Alaska.
Nome, Alaska can only be reached by airplane or snowmobile in the wintertime.
Logar is an ER doctor at Davis Medical Center in Elkins.
