Harrison County Commission met on Thursday and approved a funding request from the Susan Dew Hoff Memorial Clinic in West Milford.
Sister Mary Rebecca Fidler with the clinic explained that it's a free dental clinic for the working poor, who have dental needs but can't afford them.
Fidler said the clinic focuses on people with restorative needs.
"We only do restorative dental needs that are needed, sometimes those can be cosmetic, for particular reason of job. Pain and infection also need to be dealt with," Fidler explained.
The clinic has all volunteer dentists who work there a few times a month.
Fidler said professional volunteers are always needed, because the clinic runs off of grants and funding.
Commission voted to fund the clinic $50,000, which is up from $40,000 it funded last year.
