Marion County residents had the opportunity to "Meet the Candidates" on Wednesday night for the upcoming primary elections on May 13.
Candidates running for the Board of Education, U.S. Congress, and county commission had three minutes to issue an opening statement, then answered questions from panelists.
Candidates included those running for Board of Education (Rev. James Saunders, Dr. Babette Sims, Mary Jo Thomas, Tom Dragich, Gail Redmond, Mike Blickenstaff, Frank Moore, and Sam Brunett; U.S. Congress - Republicans (Shelly Moore Capito, Matthew Dodrill, and Larry Butcher); U.S. Congress - Democrats (Natalie Tennant, Dennis Melton, and David Wamsley); and county commission (Butch Tennant, Rick Garcia, and Dan Weber).
Members of the public could ask questions during a meet and greet session.
The event was sponsored in part by Fairmont's TV19, which will re-air tonight's event throughout the month of April, as well as online.
