Richard Lemon has been named the G-MAC Men's Basketball Athlete of the Week for the second time this season, and becomes the fourth student-athlete to earn his second AOTW honor this season out of 16 weeks of action.
In a pair of victories last week, Lemon helped his team secure the conference regular-season title, the top overall seed, and the right to host the G-MAC Championships in their first season with the G-MAC. This past week, Alderson Broaddus posted conference wins over Salem International and Davis & Elkins on the road.
Lemon averaged 19 points and 14.5 rebounds, posting a pair of double-doubles. Against Salem International, he led all scorers with 28 points on 9-16 shooting, including going 10-14 from the free throw line. He didn't record a triple-double, but he led the game in scoring, rebounds and assists as he totaled 13 rebounds and six assists. He also recorded a pair of steals.
Against Davis & Elkins, an overtime win that extended the team's winning streak to seven to end the regular-season, he scored ten points, and led the game with season-high 16 rebounds.
With 29 rebounds over two games, Lemon improved his season average to 7.8 per game, which ended the season second in the conference, behind teammate Adam Kline, who led the conference with 10.9 rebounds a game.
