Charleston Town Center Mall is marking its 30th year in business this year, but ice, snow and cold temperatures caused the shopping center to mark another milestone.
The mall closed for business at 2 p.m. March 3, and Marketing Director Lisa McCracken said it was only the third time in 25 years the mall had closed early.
McCracken said street-level restaurants had the option to stay open or to close.
Severe weather caused Huntington Mall in Barboursville to close at 2 p.m. March 3 as well, out of concern for the safety of merchants, employees and customers.
Both malls expected to reopen for business March 4 at their usual times.
