Potomac Valley Hospital Becomes Part of WVU Hospitals

WVU Hospitals and the West Virginia United Health System announced that Potomac Valley Hospital in Keyser was purchased for about $22 million.

Potomac Valley Hospital was purchased from long-time owner Harold McBee Sr.

"Potomac Valley Hospital is vital to its community, and WVUH is excited to be in the position to enhance that relationship," WVUH President and CEO Bruce McClymonds said in a news release. "Together with the current management and staff of PVH, we will work to find opportunities that will ensure the hospital's strength and growth in an ever-changing healthcare environment," he said.

The facility has a 25-bed critical access facility an employs over 200 people.  Fifty physicians and two general surgeons, have privileges to provide health care at the hospital.

Mr. McBee will serve on the board for the hospital, which now becomes a non-profit entity.
