The Lewis County Commission is looking at ways to keep its courthouse campus safer.
Commissioners are looking to add cameras to certain parts of the judicial annex that are not completely covered.
They also discussed increasing foot patrols of the old courthouse and other buildings on campus.
Commissioner Agnes Queen said the commission is glad to be able to offer the extra security.
"We do have issues from time to time, people unhappy, people angry, so we're pleased to know that we'll be able to have one of our court security people walking throughout the main campus as well," said Queen.
Commissioners also swore a new chief of courthouse security, and a new part-time security officer for the courthouse.
