Vision Shared has partnered with Main Street Morgantown and the West Virginia University BrickStreet Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship to host its first Morgantown Entrepreneurship Cafe event.
The event gives entrepreneurs the chance to pitch their business plans to a group of people, who will then vote on the best plan to give a $500 award to help jump start their business.
The event, which took place Wednesday, Feb. 12 had three men who pitched ideas about opening a brewery, sports analytics and marketing education.
Presentations are required to state the entrepreneur's goals; how funding will be used to benefit the business; organization in the community and why it is important to the community; and any project partners.
Luke Nesler took home the prize for his business marketing pitch that will help other local businesses update their marketing campaigns.
The next Morgantown event will be held at noon May 3 at the Morgantown Market Place.
