The Harrison County Humane Society held a Valentine's Day Adopt-A-Thon today at the Meadowbrook Mall.
The society had dogs, cats, and new beagle puppies at the event all up for adoptions.
There were also pictures of the other animals available at the society.
Representatives were also available to talk about the animals and were selling items to raise money for the Humane Society.
The Humane Society of Harrison County is hoping that you'll choose a new pet to be your Valentine this year.
The society is hosting a Valentine's Day Adopt-a-Thon on Thursday at the Meadowbrook Mall.
They will be at the mall in front of Garfield's from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. with some of the animals they have up for adoption.
They will also have raffle items including an outdoor kennel fence.
Representatives from the society said these events help to get more animals into their forever homes.
"When we go we take pictures of the animals here at the shelter. When we went to Walmart one time we had two cats adopted there that day, and then someone came and adopted a dog they saw a picture of. Sometimes people can't get out to us and they don't know what we have, and when they see what we have they're more likely to get adopted out," said Joanna Flesher, with the Harrison County Humane Society.
At the event there will also be items for sale, a quilt to be raffled, and donations will be accepted.
