The Meadowbrook Mall hosted its annual bridal extravaganza on Sunday. It serves as a one stop shop for brides to plan their dream wedding.
"We try to offer a little bit of everything so that when the bride comes in they can plan the entire day from the flowers, to the catering, to the honeymoon all in one place," said Robin Urquhart, Meadowbrook Mall marketing director.
Hundreds of brides filled the mall for the bridal show that has been a tradition for more than 10 years.
Urquhart said there shouldn't be anything a bride can't find at extravaganza.
"We try to make it all things bridal so that when you come in no matter what your needs are you can find it here. Brides go far and wide to search for the perfect dress, the perfect caterer. They want to meet people who they get along with and hopefully they'll find them here today," said Urquhart.
In addition to having everything all in one place, brides even got the chance to win two round trip tickets to either Punta Cana or Cancun.
Urquhart said the bridal show also helps business for the vendors who attend.
"Our vendors over the years the feedback has just been awesome. They're very targeted and they get the brides who aren't just browsing, they are planning and they have dates," Urquhart said.
Owner of Roxanna's Photography, Roxanna Wilson agreed that the Bridal Extravaganza provides most of her business for the year.
"To get all the brides together and have them all in one place is absolutely helpful for our business. We do this bridal show once a year and its 2/3 of my income. It's the only bridal show I do all year so I really enjoy it," said Wilson.
There are still bridal shows coming up this year including the Magical Moments Bridal Fair on February 16 at the Bridgeport Conference Center.
