The winter weather may have slowed things down recently, but work on an area school continues.
Lewis County officials said work on the new Leading Creek Elementary School hasn't slowed down.
In fact, they said the timeline is basically unchanged, and they expect the building to be finished in December.
They said contractors are on site and construction isn't far off.
"At our last meeting, they were even beginning to talk about certain corners being laid and so forth, so that could happen at any time," said Steve Casto, of Lewis County Schools and Leading Creek Elementary.
Casto said the school won't be open for students until the 2015-2016 school year.
Lewis and Gilmer counties are building the school together and students from both counties will attend. The school will replace Troy Elementary and Alum Bridge Elementary School.
