Dominion Hope presented a check on Wednesday to the West Virginia University Extension Service.
The $50,000 donation will help fund a new building at Jackson's Mill to replace Flameway Hall, which was destroyed in the 2012 Derecho.
This donation continues a partnership between Dominion and the WVU Extension Service.
"Dominion has a long time partnership with Jackson's Mill, back to the 1950's, helping to originally establish that building and other partnerships throughout the years with extension. We wanted to go to them to try to continue that partnership and they were gracious enough to help us put the first pieces in place to continue that," explained Brent Clark, with the WVU Extension Service.
Dominion said it wanted to give back to a place that it's had such a co-operative history with.
"We try to give back and we have a deep history with Jackson's Mill. It goes way back. Our company picnics used to be there and we have a lot of employee meetings at that location. This is one way for us to give back to them for what they've done for us," said Bob Orndorff, with Dominion.
