A 44-year-old Florida man and a 49-year-old Charleston resident have admitted to trafficking in methamphetamines.

Richard Milton Hudson Riggal, Zephyrhills, and Howard Leon Lykins II, Charleston, entered guilty pleas Tuesday, Jan. 28, in U.S. District Court in Charleston.

U.S. Attorney Booth Goodwin said detectives with the Metropolitan Drug Enforcement Network Team found meth, firearms and cash during a search of Lykins' Stone Acre Drive residence in July. Riggall was at the house when police arrived, and they found digital scales, two firearms and more than $41,000 in cash in his luggage.

Goodwin said a search at another Kanawha County residence associated with the drug network yielded more than 900 grams of high-purity "ice" methamphetamne. Riggall admitted he brought the drug from Florida to West Virginia to sell, Goodwin said.

Riggall pleaded guilty to possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine, while Lykins admitted to maintaining a residence for drug purposes. Each faces up to 20 years in federal prison.

MDENT and the DEA Task Force conducted the investigation. Assistant U.S. Attorney Joshua Hanks is in charge of the prosecution.
