The Huntington man who robbed City National Bank on Route 60 at gunpoint in July will spend nearly six years in federal prison.

William Spencer Farley, 25, was sentenced Monday, Jan. 27, by Chief U.S. District Judge Robert C. Chambers to five years and 10 months in prison.

U.S. Attorney Booth Goodwin said Farley entered the bank July 26, pointed a pistol at a teller and demanded cash, fleeing the bank with a little more than $3,000.

Farley, who was captured on camera at the bank, was arrested shortly after the robbery and confessed to robbing the bank in a statement to law enforcement, Goodwin said.

He pleaded guilty to the robbery in October.

The case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and Cabell County Sheriff's Department. Assistant U.S. Attorney Joseph F. Adams handled the prosecution.
