The winter weather may have ruined some people's plans to go out over the weekend, but some of those who were snowed in at the Stonewall Resort didn't mind one bit.
It was dance weekend at the Stonewall Resort, kicking off Friday night with salsa dancing and moving on ballroom dancing on Saturday. Both sessions were for people of all skill levels, not just those with dancing experience.
"We start at a very basic beginner's level for those folks, and we also have intermediate classes for people who have been with us before and want to progress a little further with their dancing," said instructor Craig Giffin of WV Dance.
Deborah Leak is one of those dancers. She came all the way from Kentucky for the event.
"It's such good exercise and a way for couples to get together, married couples and friends, to enjoy and learn," said Leak.
Leak said she learned lots of new techniques from Giffin.
"...Crossover lead, we learned the box, and the twinkle," said Leak.
Giffin said dancing can be therapeutic for himself and many of his students.
"When I'm dancing, I never think about other things in my life. I just think about dancing, so it's kind of a very Zen, sort of, clearing mind exercise," said Giffin.
