A Lewis County lawmaker headed back to Charleston this week hopes to bring back a new job for a circuit judge.
Delegate Peggy Donaldson Smith hopes to pass bill adding a judge to the 26th circuit court in Lewis and Upshur County.
Smith said the circuit has one of the busiest case loads in the state, and Judge Kurt Hall deals with all of them.
She said the circuit should have extra help sooner rather than later.
"Our circuit judge has so many cases that we think, Delegate Hamilton and I think that it's important to increase the number of judges here," said Delegate Smith.
Smith also suggested splitting the circuit in two, and creating a new circuit instead of adding a judge to the current circuit.
