Fairmont State guard Stevie Browning has been named Mountain East Conference Player of the Week for his efforts in leading the Falcons to a 2-0 week.
Browning, a sophomore from Logan, W.Va., scored a career-high 28 points, including 14-straight points late in the second half, to get the Falcons past Wheeling Jesuit. He followed up that performance with 17 points and eight rebounds as FSU held off Concord, 71-66, on Saturday.
Glenville State's Keyanna Tate has been named the Mountain East Conference Player of the Week after leading the 12th-ranked Pioneers to a 3-0 week.
Tate, a junior forward from Forestville, Md., averaged 16.3 points and 6.7 rebounds in three games for the Pioneers. She netted 11 points against Charleston before scoring a team-high 21 points as GSC handed Urbana its first conference loss of the season. She finished the week with a double-double against Wheeling Jesuit with 17 points and 12 rebounds.
