A Marion County man facing child abuse charges had a plea hearing on Thursday.
Nathaniel Beh faces charges of child abuse resulting in injury and child neglect creating a risk of injury or death.
Police officers responded to Beh and Amanda Blouir's house after receiving a complaint of child abuse. Police found welts and bruises on a 6-year-old and an 8-year-old.
Upon asking the children how they received the injuries, they told police that their mother, Blouir, and Beh beat them, according to a criminal complaint.
In court on Thursday, Beh didn't agree with the plea deal prosecutors presented and refused to plea.
He will be back in court on Friday so the defense can present several motions. They include accessing Beh's after-arrest statements and the state's plea deal with Blouir.
Beh's trial is set for Wednesday, January 15.
