Millions of people are striving to live a healthier lifestyle in 2014, and AmeriCorps' "Change the Future" movement is helping to prevent Type II Diabetes.
Group Lifestyle Balance is a weekly class offered at the Clarksburg Library, designed to help people make modest behavior changes like increasing physical activity to 150 minutes per week.
The program even utilizes state-of-the-art technology like the Tanita.
"It'll print out a whole list of things about your body, like your BMI, your muscle mass, your fat percentage, your metabolic age…that just gives you a starting point to know where you're at," said Kari Yokochi, an AmeriCorps members.
The classes with be held every Tuesday, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the Clarksburg Library on West Pike Street for the next 12 weeks.
Another Living Healthy workshop series is scheduled for Monday, January 27, February 3, 10, 17, 24, and March 3 at the Southern Area Library in Lost Creek.
